As a student project, the first challenge was simply inventing a unique event to brand. After exploring several ideas, I landed on the playful concept of an Egg Throwing Festival. The design challenge then became figuring out how to incorporate illustration meaningfully into a branding system—something I had little experience with at the time.
I developed a humorous and playful identity built around a poster series where each illustration interacted with the next. The narrative showed a patron throwing an egg, missing the target, and hitting someone else—creating a chain reaction of expressions and emotions. Colors acted as emotional cues: red for anger, blue for fear, and yellow for neutrality. The brand aesthetic combined bold, friendly typography with whimsical illustrations to capture the lighthearted spirit of the event.

I produced a full campaign package for the fictional event, imagined to take place in Central Park, NYC, where anyone could join in the fun of slinging eggs. The deliverables included a three-poster series, flyers, event tickets, RFID wristband designs, and a t-shirt design, all tied together by the same playful tone and illustrative style.
This project gave me my first true exploration into combining illustration with branding and event identity. I learned how to use narrative across multiple pieces to tell a story, how color theory can heighten emotion in design, and how to create a cohesive system across print, merchandise, and event materials. Most importantly, I discovered that branding doesn’t always need to be serious—playfulness and humor can be powerful tools for creating memorable, engaging work.
