Flower Power, a small local flower shop in Edmond, Oklahoma, lacked a cohesive identity. Its branding was outdated, inconsistent, and cluttered with mismatched typefaces, leaving the business without a clear voice or design presence in the local market.
To reestablish the shop’s identity, I infused personality by drawing on the groovy origins of the name “Flower Power,” while balancing it with a touch of timid modernism. This retro-meets-modern approach created a bold, memorable, and distinctive presence that allowed the shop to stand out in the competitive floral space.

I executed a full branding overhaul that included a redesigned storefront logo and a flexible brand identity system. I developed a repeating pattern that could extend across aprons, delivery vans, packaging, wallpaper, and other branded elements. In addition, I proposed updates for the shop’s website (desktop and mobile), along with revised concepts for their social media presence to create a more consistent and engaging brand experience.
This early project in my design career sharpened both my technical and creative skills. It also taught me one of my biggest personal lessons as a designer: I am often my own biggest obstacle. My tendency to obsess over micro-level imperfections slowed me down, and through this project I learned to step back, refocus on the bigger picture, and trust the overall vision. That shift in perspective continues to guide me in balancing detail with momentum in every project I take on.
