Typography conferences often appear flat and academic, lacking the sense of cultural significance and energy that could inspire designers. I wanted to reimagine this forum as something far greater—an event that carried resonance, a story, and a world of its own, designed to create massive desire and excitement among creatives.
To portray this sense of grandeur, I created a bold, experimental visual identity that pushed beyond traditional typography layouts. Using futuristic letterforms and wave-like visual elements, the design echoed the idea that type itself carries resonance, energy, and impact equal to spoken language.

The project culminated in a series of striking posters intended for subway ads and street placements. The aesthetic leaned into “otherworldly” experimental design, with futuristic typography and abstract wavelength motifs that symbolized the power of communication through design. To reinforce the sense of a larger cultural movement, I built a narrative world around the event that included designers from different eras, each specializing in unique areas of design and style. This gave the event a sense of depth, diversity, and maximum coverage of the topic.
Through this project, I learned how to integrate AI into my workflow as a true creative tool. By using AI for early-stage inspiration, I was able to explore directions quickly and conserve energy for refinement. This process delayed burnout, gave me room to experiment physically and digitally, and allowed me to push the final design further. I walked away with a clearer understanding of how to balance AI assistance with analog processes and human craftsmanship.
